My week started off a little rocky. After getting to work Tuesday I had an a-fib episode. My doc had told me at my last visit that it may come and go and to take one of my rhythm drugs and see what happened. It worked! For the first time a med converted me back to sinus rhythm!

I completed all but one of my workouts this week despite that little incident. Looking at my goals for the year it feels as though I should make some corrections and updates. My compliance on the mid volume plans has been great. There have been a few “life” issues that have caused some skipped workouts but I’ve felt good throughout. Each workout has been completed with precision and I’ve felt really “good” through the work. As far as my ftp goal is concerned I’m thrilled to say that the needle is moving! My last test put me at a 360 watt ftp and thanks to some nutrition work that puts me at 4.1 w/kg. Since I’m just now starting the build phase of my training plan I’m hopeful I can see a few more watts before The Epic 150. No, there’s no DK200 in my future this season. From the sounds of it, The Epic 150 is harder than DK. That makes me a little nervous, but we’ll see what comes of it.
